The Clark Beach area is open for many types of passive recreation activities including: sunbathing, nature study, bird watching and picnicking. In addition, residents of Great Neck who are current dues‐paying members of the Association of Great Neck may request a permit from the AGN Board to hold special social events in the Clark Beach area such as weddings and family gatherings.

Effective December 1, 2010, any resident of Great Neck who is a current dues‐paying member of AGN may make a formal written request to the Board of Directors for permission to use AGN property for a special social event.

Please submit an email request  at least two months in advance of the event with the following information:

  • Date
  • Hours
  • Desired location
  • Estimated number of attendees
  • Estimated number of vehicles. (Please note that only vehicles with AGN hang tags may park in the Clark and Bowdoin lots.)
  • Plan for non-AGN vehicle parking
  • Temporary facilities that will be installed, if applicable
  • Will alcohol be served? If so, what controls will be in place regarding underage drinking and over-consumption of alcohol?
  • What controls will be in place for noise level?

The AGN Board of Directors will review the request at a regularly scheduled monthly meeting. The Board will vote on the request and will communicate in writing the outcome of the vote. The request will be judged based on the scale and the potential impact of the event on the other anticipated simultaneous users of the Clark Beach area, on the neighbors, and on the environment guided by the provisions of the Deed of Conservation Restriction, the Clark Beach Management Plan, and the Clark Beach and Pond Rules and Regulations. The decision of the Board will be final.
